National Alliance of Preservation Commissions Provides Training to NYS Preservation Professionals

Dozens of preservation professionals joined us as we welcomed the National Alliance of Preservation Commissions (NAPC) for their virtual CAMP training on March 29 and 31. While we were disappointed we could not host this program in-person in Newburgh and Sag Harbor as planned, we were delighted to present this program virtually and that by doing so, we were able to reach so many more of you across New York State!

NAPC’s trainers always bring top-notch expertise, professionalism, and humor to each and every program. Their passion for their craft shines through and gets us all thinking about how we can be the best champions of historic preservation.

Over the course of two days, trainers Ramona Bartos, Friedericke Mittner, and Abbey Christman took us on a jam-packed seven hours of training on legal fundamentals, design review guidelines, alternative materials, procedures and commissioner roles, infill design, and mid-century resources. We were joined by preservation commissioners, staff, and other preservation professionals from around the state eagerly participating in conversation.

Did you miss the program? We are pleased to offer an opportunity to register for full access to the recordings! You can register by April 19, 2021 to receive access to the recordings on-demand until June 7, 2021. Click here for details.

NAPC is pleased to offer professional AIA, AICP, and HSW credits & certificates of completion for viewing of recorded sessions.

Thank you to the New York State Historic Preservation Office for their participation in this program, and many thanks to the Peggy N. and Roger G. Gerry Charitable Trust for their generous support that made this program possible.
