Historic Tax Credits for Homeowners: Free Webinar Series

Learn how the 20% NYS Historic Homeownership Rehabilitation Tax Credit Program can help you save money on repairs and upgrades to your home. This 1-hour webinar will provide an introduction to the program, including eligibility requirements, what work qualifies for tax credits, the application process, examples of successful projects, and plenty of time for Q&A.

Who should attend? Realtors, architects, planners, homeowners, building owners, business owners, community leaders, contractors, and anyone who wants to learn how the NYS Historic Homeownership Rehabilitation Tax Credit program can help owners of eligible residential properties save money on repairs to their homes!

These webinars are open to all but are specifically geared to homeowners in qualifying National Register historic districts in the regions listed below. The same information about the homeowner tax credit program will be presented at each webinar, along with additional information specific to each region or community. If you can’t make the webinar for your region or you don’t see your region listed, you are welcome to attend any webinar.

All webinars are presented by the Preservation League of NYS, Preservation Studios, and the NY State Historic Preservation Office, in collaboration with the local partners listed below.

Beginning this year, Technical Assistance Grants (TAG) will run concurrently with Preserve New York, opening in January 2025 with a deadline of April 18, 2025.

The Maurice D. Hinchey Hudson River Valley National Heritage Area provides additional support for TAG.

The Preservation League is pleased to offer 1 CE credits for architects through the NYS Department of Education for participation in this webinar. Certificates of completion will be provided for each architect's individual records and reporting procedures for maintaining licensure.
