Technical Talk: Historic Windows

If you have historic windows in your home, you might be tempted to replace them – but might we suggest rehabbing them instead? In this Technical Talk, Kurt Riegel from Riegel Restoration explains the benefits of historic window rehabilitation. Kurt dispels common energy myths about older windows and highlights project examples. He also does a live demonstration on a window sash to help you feel confident about potentially tackling your own wood windows.

Giving your historic wood windows a little TLC allows you to retain a character-defining aspect of your home and keeps that material out of the landfill. A win-win! Follow along why don’t you, and learn why rehabbing your historic windows might be exactly the next home improvement project you should tackle.
