This presentation will illustrate how community-led redevelopment / revitalization strategies such an EPA Area-wide Planning Study or a NYS Brownfield Opportunity Area (BOA) study, can be used to identify a vision and recommendations to grow the local economy with specific emphasis on integrating arts and culture to drive revitalization. Lisa Nagle, AICP, RLA is a community planning strategist and co-founder of Elan Planning and Design LLC. For over 29 years, she has practiced in strategic planning, visioning, design, and economic development for communities throughout the northeast. Ms. Nagle assists municipalities understand and articulate the vision for their future and guides them in the practicality of implementation. Using her skill sets of community planning, public and stakeholder engagement, and design knowledge, Ms. Nagle brings a high level of deliberate thought that results in consensus-based plans that are being directly implemented. Whether it is revitalizing a downtown, redeveloping a brownfield, or building consensus for a new park or trail system, Ms. Nagle brings passion and understanding that integrates community desire to achieve success.
