Walking with Calvert Vaux: The Hoyt Drive Warren Truss

Scenic Hudson received a 2020 NYSCA-funded Preserve New York grant to fund a Cultural Resource Survey of 12 historic steel truss bridges that were built to provide access to the Hudson River over the Hudson River line railroad tracks. With their Survey recently completed, we reached out to Scenic Hudson’s Director of Land Use Advocacy Jeffrey Anzevino to see if he would be interested in sharing a bit about this exciting project.

2021 NYS Virtual Preservation Advocacy Day

While we wish we could have joined our supporters in person to attend meetings in the Capitol and Legislative Office Building in downtown Albany, we successfully transformed our advocacy to a virtual Zoom event. Our attendees included familiar faces as well as some new advocates from across New York State who were eager to convey to legislative leadership the importance of preservation in their communities.

Stamp Out Old Barn Loss!: A Virtual Gathering on Barn History and Preservation Trends

In perhaps the first virtual northeastern regional preservation event, New Hampshire reached out to fellow northeast statewide organizations and the National Barn Alliance to partner. The National Barn Alliance, Maine Preservation, Preservation Connecticut, Preservation League of New York State, Preservation Massachusetts, Preservation Pennsylvania, Preserve Rhode Island and Preservation Trust of Vermont all joined the New Hampshire Preservation Alliance and over 240 participants for an afternoon of barn discussion and fiddling!
